![]() ![]() It is simply an orders of magnitude larger problem to network and debug a set of intertwined distributed services versus a single monolithic application. I my likely redownload X-plane 12 in Dec when they release the full version hopefully all bugs are sorted out.As on the ground microservice practitioners quickly realize, the majority of operational problems that arise when moving to a distributed architecture are ultimately grounded in two areas: networking and observability. ![]() My Windows reliabilty index has also be quite consistent over 8 to 10. I haven't logged into the internet at all since the reset an am monitoring these blue screens which havent shown up. Only have the D drive installation of the free demo which is still working. Since my last blue screen I reset my laptop so lost all my Steam files on my C drive. I thought maybe it could be an issue with my SSD as the free version was installed on my HDD but the Steam version on my SSD. Ive seen fps from 25 to 45 fps and don't fully agree with them. I have reported the issue to Laminar but they said my GPU was not powerful enough as i have a 1050Ti. I do get noticeable higher fps with the Steam version. Regarding X-plane 12 the free demo from Laminar website ran without any freezing however the paid Steam downloaded version has given those issues you mentioned. I have both Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux on my machine because of all the blue screen issues i had with Windows. If anyone has encountered similar issues running it on Linux and found solutions, let me know as I prefer the smoother experience it gives with better graphics. So for the moment I can enjoy flying a bit on Windows, and hoping the Linux version gets better by the next few Beta versions. Tried re-installing drivers just in case but did not get better. On my Linux OS, I am suspecting there is an issue with X-Plane 12 vs nVidia drivers (currently version 520). Frame rate is around 65fps same as X-Plane 11 on Windows. I haven't seen a crash yet so I'm sort of happy, but even with lower graphics settings I am getting the occasional 'pauses' while flying. I decided to try it on Windows 10 to see if it crashes. Performance is still great at around 80fps with almost full graphics settings. In fact I could easily kill the process instead of having to reboot Linux. Then the recent Betas began having issues like freezing a few minutes after take off but with sound still going and OS is still responsive. No issues with clouds, graphics or any crashes of any kind. Now that I have X-Plane 12 I immediately installed it on Linux and till a few Betas back it was working perfectly and smooth at around 90fps. Testing was done with same settings, plane configuration and flight. Yes, I've tried it on Windows 10 to compare performance but on Linux I was getting 140fps while on Windows it was around 65fps. My main OS is Linux and from X-Plane 11 onwards I always installed it on Linux. This is targeted at re-selling and guerilla marketing. You may, however, promote your own creations, videos and addons.
